Why we exist

Synapse Optics builds optical-design software designed around how engineers and AI agents actually work today. Open APIs from day one — a CLI for scripting and batch jobs, a programmatic interface, and an MCP server so AI agents can drive the full workflow alongside the GUI. Capable enough for real design work, priced for individual engineers and small teams, and free for students and academics on LensHH-LT.

What we believe

• Open interfaces beat closed dialogs. Every workflow exposed in the GUI is also reachable through the CLI, the API, and an MCP server. Automate it, script it, agent-drive it.
• Affordable beats subscription. Perpetual licenses, one-time payments, two-machine activation, free LensHH-LT for students and academics with an academic discount on Pro at launch.
• A user guide ships with the software. A full PDF and a searchable HTML help bundle install alongside the application — in addition to the in-app help.

Where we're going

LensHH-LT is the first release in the LensHH family, covering ray tracing, optimization, aberration analysis, and the full glass-catalog set. LensHH-Pro is in development and adds tolerancing, multiple configurations, environmental analysis, optical coatings, and additional surface types — for production design work.
